EXPLORE FUTURE HOPE
WHAT IS FUTURE HOPE?
Future Hope is a contracted Supervised Independent Living program located in Decatur, Texas. Future Hope is an extension of Addy’s Hope Adoption Agency. Addy’s Hope Adoption Agency is a private, non-profit organization that provides child placement services for abused and neglected children through an adoption services contract with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Addy’s Hope also offers adoption services for biological families desiring to make an adoption plan for their child(ren).
Our work providing adoptive homes for children from the Department of Family and Protective Services pushed supported the decision to create Future Hope. Future Hope offers a multi-services approach in addressing the needs of young men ages 18-22 who have aged out of the foster care system.
THE NEED
There is a dire need for intentional and effective support for youth aging out of foster. Young men that “age out” often leave the foster care system without a support system or the preparation needed to lead successful independent lives. Success will look different for each young man. However, we desire to support them in acquiring the knowledge, skills, abilities needed to transition to caring, connected and responsible members of society.
WHY FUTURE HOPE?
OUR MISSION
Future Hope is designed to assist young men by providing them with a furnished studio apartment, equipping them with life skills, supporting them through relationships, and linking them to education, mentors, & community partners.
Future Hope is dedicated to providing a stable and supportive environment for young men transitioning out of the foster care system. Our program is built on a foundation of compassion, empowerment, and skill-building to help these individuals thrive as they enter adulthood. Our history is rooted in the belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to build a successful future, regardless of their past experiences. Through our comprehensive approach, we aim to break the cycle of foster care and empower these young men to achieve their full potential.
OUR VISION
To provide every young man aging out of foster care the support, skills and opportunities to reach their fullest potential

Our Story
Addy's Hope, a social services organization focused on child welfare in Texas since 2012, identified a critical gap in support for youth aging out of foster care. These young men can face significant barriers after aging out of the foster care system. Statistics from the Texas DFPS Data Book highlight the issue: nearly 2,000 youth turned 18 without adoption since 2012, including 232 in 2020, while over 8,000 were inadequately prepared for adulthood that year.
Inspired during a search for office space amid nonprofit closures, the organization redirected funds to purchase property for more than administrative use. This led to the creation of Future Hope. The initiative includes a 14-apartment complex on the property, partnering with local communities and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services as a Supported Independent Living facility. It equips participants physically, emotionally, and spiritually through mentoring, teaching, and ongoing connections to a supportive network.
